The Swiss jewelry brand was founded in 1993 Geneva, Switzerland. Created by Fawaz Gruosi, a black diamond specialist, De Grisogono is well-known for having set a new record at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva after selling the world’s biggest-ever emerald cut diamond offered at auction — a 163.41-carat D Flawless stone, cut from a 404 carat rough. The stone was set into a necklace designed by Gruosi and fetched 33.5 million Swiss francs.
The piece is indicative of the imaginative and opulent items the house creates. Bold colors come together in the form of wrap ring flaunting flawless emeralds set against vivid amethysts or textural interlocking hoops earrings peppered with white diamonds and emeralds. De Grisogono creations are not for wallflowers but rather those who appreciate the art of adornment and whimsical details that border on the surreal.
