La Maison Poiray, founded in 1975 and located on Paris’ Place Vendôme, designs and sells jewelry that is suitably congruent to its prestigious address. Additionally, the company’s multifaceted lines are sold throughout France, and in Spain, Corsica, Belgium, and in far-flung destinations like Casablanca and Stockholm. The company produces a wide variety of looks and goods, ranging from traditional jewelry to eye-catching high jewelry to quiet, classic items for daywear. Additionally, there is a large line for men, watches, accessories (like alarm clocks and pens), and even a tasseled silk cord in many colors. The cords are used to suspend the company’s signature, interlaced heart, slightly Art Deco in style, and produced in both 18K and sterling silver. The company’s bijoux are generally fabricated in 18K yellow gold, although there are exceptions.
There is something for everyone in the company’s diverse lines — delicate necklaces with diamond-studded bows, interwoven hearts, open-work lattice cuff-style bracelets, filigree necklaces, bridal jewelry, and classic clean styles as well as dramatic, one-of-a-kind jewelry. Watches were added to the mix in 1985 and several of them incorporate steel with gold, or steel only. In general, the jewelry is youthful, chic and smart.
